A $590,000 Nissan Juke

Nissan introduced the Juke-R or "R-Type" last year, an enhanced version of their popular and cute 2011 Nissan Juke from Gurley Leep Nissan in Mishawaka. Juke-R features a redesigned front and rear end, high performance running gear and all-wheel-drive capability.

Under the hood, Juke-R is pumped up with a 485-horsepower twin-turbocharged V6 powerplant, thanks to the impeccable design and engineering of Nissan's European technical center and British racing team RML.

This new Nissan variant can be built up using a base model 2011 Juke, priced at an affordable $20,770. Standard Jukes come with a 188-horsepower, 1.6-liter four cylinder direct-injection engine, producing an EPA estimated MPG rating of 27 city, 32 highway.

Not enough money for you? That's ok, because a one-off promotional Nissan Juke-R is coming, and its price will shock you.

The $590,000 Juke-R (that is not a typo) made a public appearance as pace car for Dubai's 24 Hour race. This vehicle is not just a looker for that price tag, it performs as well.

Making the rounds on the Dubai track, this custom Juke-R includes a 545-horsepower engine used in 2012 Nissan GT-R.

Nissan Juke-R will be available to order in the United States later this year, the auto maker is building a limited number, 20-25 units, with a price tag of $590,000.

Some think Nissan Juke is an odd looking vehicle, but the car is a success around the world. Juke is built on the Japanese auto maker's B Platform, a global chassis also used for Nissan Versa, Cube and Europe's Clio.
